This is the official website for our beautiful village of Axford.
Situated near the Wiltshire/Berkshire border Axford is one of several villages that dot the meandering route of the A4 as it links Reading with Bath and Bristol. Between Hungerford in Berkshire and Marlborough in Wiltshire lie Chilton Foliat, Ramsbury, Axford and Minal (Midenhall) each village has it's own charming qualities. Axford being the smallest is probably the quietest and most unspoiled. The river Kennet and a tributary the Ax meander through low lying watermeadows. There is very little settlement on th south of the river, most houses being along the road leading from Ramsbury to Minal and Marlborough. The Red lion Inn and several small to medium businesses keep the village busy and we have a traditional country fair every two years. x wind through the southern side The
