The weather may have been cruel but we’re keeping our green fingers crossed the sun will continue to shine and the flowers bloom!
Please note, admissions to enter your garden will close on Sunday 28h April.
We are still welcoming volunteers to help with the event. If you have some spare time between now and Sunday 9th June please contact event organiser, Caroline Anstey: Email
So far there is a list of wonderful gardens to view during the open day and we are hoping to expand to new venues.
In addition, the day’s entertainment will include a musical recital with Ruth Muffett in St Michael’s Church. Axford Village Hall will open for an exhibition to showcase works by local artists. The Ramsbury Silver Band will accompany tea, at the Stone House.
This is the official website for our beautiful village of Axford.
Situated near the Wiltshire/Berkshire border Axford is one of several villages that dot the meandering route of the A4 as it links Reading with Bath and Bristol. Between Hungerford in Berkshire and Marlborough in Wiltshire lie Chilton Foliat, Ramsbury, Axford and Minal (Midenhall) each village has it's own charming qualities. Axford being the smallest is probably the quietest and most unspoiled. The river Kennet and a tributary the Ax meander through low lying watermeadows. There is very little settlement on th south of the river, most houses being along the road leading from Ramsbury to Minal and Marlborough. The Red lion Inn and several small to medium businesses keep the village busy and we have a traditional country fair every two years. x wind through the southern side The
